    The Henderson Symphony Orchestra opens its 23rd season with the music of Mozart.  Concert master, Garth McBride and Violist, Merietta Oviatt will be featured on Mozart's "Symphonia Concertante."  The program will also include Mozart's emotionally expansive "Symphony #25."
    Preshow discussion starts at 7:15p.m. continuing until 7:45p.m. with the concert beginning at 8:00p.m.

    The Las Vegas Hawaiian Civic Club and the City of Henderson are excited to present The 19th Annual Prince Jonah Kuhio Ho’Olaule’A Festival.
    Join them and experience the traditional island culture as you enjoy their songs, dances, and food.  Vendors will be there to tempt you with many island cuisines as well as crafts.  
    Festivities will start at 9:00a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
    Entertainment will fill the day in the Events Plaza Amphitheatre and the Convention Center Front Lawn.

    In addition to the wonderful fruits and vegetables you will find frresh baked breads, fresh made salsas, honey and much more.  There are booths with great gift ideas such as hand made knitted and embroirdered items, beautiful wood carved items, hand made jewelry and other specialty items.

    In Japan dolls have been a part of everyday life since ancient times.  Japanese dolls reflect the customs of Japan and the aspirations of its people, possess distinctive regional attributes, and over the centuries have developed in many diverse forms. 
    Dolls also provide a showcase for traditional Japanese craft products, such as textiles.
    Don’t miss the rare opportunity to view these beautiful Japanese dolls, while learning about their place in Japanese culture and history.
    This outstanding exhibit will be on display at the Henderson Convention Center from September 8th through October 10th.

    October - May: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

    Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve

    Take a tour of the Bird Viewing Preserve on the Bird Mobile!  It seats six visitors and is an excellent way to see the preserve, especially for visitors who find walking difficult.  Children must be at least 6 years old and each child must be accompanied by a registered adult.  Seats are limited, so sign up early. 
    Touring may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

    Guests can stroll up Main Street and perhaps meet their newest family member. 
    Participation in the ‘Mutts on Main Street’ event is free to local pet adoption organizations.

    Master Sushi Chef, Chef Fuji will personally conduct Lowes Culinary Institute’s Sushi & Sake Sessions.  You won’t earn credits or a degree from the institute but you will have the opportunity to learn or sharpen your skills at sushi.
    The cost is $50 per person and will include two hours of Sushi & Sake clinics, hands on learning and a tasting of sushi and sake.  Sessions are offered on the second Saturday of every month at Marssa restaurant.
    Unlike the summer sessions that were offered for the kids, these sessions are for adults 21 and over.
    Students will receive a VIP rate to dine at Marssa.
