| Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area (NCA) offers nearly unlimited recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike. The NCA is important to the scientific community because of its abundant plant and animal populations, its significant cultural resource sites and its unique geology. The famous Keystone Thrust Fault runs throughout the area, made visible by the exposure of ancient limestone rocks sitting atop younger sandstone layers.
