SALT-N-PEPA HEADLINE AT HENDERSON PAVILION FOR NEW YORK CITY FRESH FEST, SEPTEMBER 3

Tickets on Sale Now!

The Henderson Pavilion goes “old-school” with the New York City Fresh Fest on Saturday, September 3 at 5 p.m. The concert is a partnership with Las Vegas’ Soul Station, Power 88, the City of Henderson, CTS and Taurus Productions. The Fresh Fest is the first hip-hop throwback show to appear at the Henderson Pavilion and features a collection of multi-platinum and award-winning artists from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s including Salt-N-Pepa, Whodini, Doug E. Fresh, Kool Moe Dee and The Sugarhill Gang. Tickets start at $39 in advance and $49 day of show, plus service fee, and are on sale now at HendersonLive.com.

Headlining the New York City Fresh Fest and making their inaugural appearance at the Henderson Pavilion is the first-ever female rap trio, Salt-N-Pepa. Reunited recently for a Legends of Hip-Hop Tour earlier this spring, the Grammy Award-winning group is celebrating the 25th anniversary of their first album release, 1986’s Hot, Cool, & Vicious, which featured the hit song, “Push It.” A quarter of a century later, they are reconnecting with devoted fans by rapping their greatest hits, several of which made it to top spots on Billboard charts, including “Shoop,” “Whatta Man,” “Express Yourself” and more.

Joining Salt-N-Pepa for the retro hip-hop reunion concert is ‘80s rap group Whodini, singing their monster hits “5 Minutes of Funk” and “Freaks Come Out at Night.” The master of the first human beat box in the rap world who utilized his talents for the popular songs “La Di Da Di” and “The Show,” Doug E. Fresh, will take the stage, along with Kool Moe Dee, famous for his popular single “How Ya Like Me Now,” and The Sugarhill Gang, whose song “Rapper’s Delight” was the first hip-hop single to become a Top 40 hit.

A special appearance by local talented performers will add to the evening, as they display their incredible break dancing and pop and lock moves while moving to the rhythm of the music that made these artists famous.
