The End of Summer Block Party is a high-energy, all ages music festival, showcasing the talent of today’s popular young artists. The concert will be the first time either entertainer has visited Henderson or performed in Southern Nevada, as well as the only show currently scheduled on the West Coast.
Simpson, a rising pop star from Australia, got his start last year, releasing his first single, “iYiYi,” featuring rapper Flo Rida. The 14-year-old followed the success with “Summertime” and most recently dropped “On My Mind” this past spring. Simpson has toured the world, singing for thousands. Currently, he is working in-studio on a new album, which is set for release this September.
Last summer, British Virgin Islander Iyaz skyrocketed into super stardom with his monster hit, “Replay” from his debut album of the same name. Played over the radio airwaves worldwide, the reggae-inspired song reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and #1 in other countries. With his newfound popularity, the 20-something joined the hottest tour of 2010 featuring teen idol Justin Bieber with special guest Sean Kingston. This year, he is working with many fellow musicians on future tunes including his latest collaboration, “Pretty Girls” featuring Travie McCoy, known for his smash single “Billionaire” and of Gym Class Heroes fame.
A tradition for the past three years, the End of Summer Block Party has become a highlight at the Henderson Pavilion, treating teens and families to an entertaining evening prior to heading back to school. Past appearances for the event have included Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush, Meaghan Martin from Disney’s Camp Rock, multi-platinum recording star Jesse McCartney and more.
