September 30, 2008 SINGING NUN FROM SISTER ACT PERFORMS IN HENDERSON Darlene Koldenhoven, the beloved tambourine-waving choir nun in both Sister Act films, will showcase her vocal talents with an intimate concert at the Henderson Events Plaza, located at 200 S. September 29, 2008 RECORD TURNOUT FOR SUPER RUN CLASSIC CAR SHOW The City of Henderson hosted the 9th annual Super Run Classic Car this past weekend boasting a record turnout of car entries and attendees. Over 1,300 vintage vehicles, street rods and muscle cars were displayed in the Water Street District in downtown Henderson and over 130,000 people from across the nation attended the four-day event.

September 02, 2008 “WHOSE LIVE ANYWAY” TO PERFORM AT THE HENDERSON PAVILION The improv comedy show, “Whose Live Anyway,” performs at the Henderson Pavilion, located at 200 S. Green Valley Parkway, on Saturday, October 11 at 8 p.m. Ticket prices for this show range from $25 to $45.
September 02, 2008 ROCKIN’ BLUES MUSIC FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS MUSIC FROM EVERY ERA The Rockin’ Blues Music Festival will celebrate its 3rd anniversary with an assortment of live concerts by award-winning acts that represent several genres of music including rock & roll, blues, country and jazz. Some of the headlining performers showcased are Michael Burks, Yellow Brick Road, Jessica Andrews and the Rock & Roll Dance Party. August 14, 2008 “THE FINAL RIOT! - PARAMORE SUMMER TOUR ‘08” HUGE SUCCESS AT THE HENDERSON PAVILION On July 29th the Henderson Pavilion, located at 200 S. Green Valley Parkway, hosted “The Final RIOT! – Paramore Summer Tour ‘08” sponsored by the House of Blues and Live Nation. As one of the most successful rentals, the concert was a near sell out and featured Jack’s Mannequin, Paper Route and punk-pop quartet Paramore.

April 03, 2008 INTERNATIONAL FOOD & FOLKLIFE FESTIVAL MOVES TO HENDERSON After more than 30 years in Las Vegas, the International Food & Folklife Festival moves to Henderson. The event, which celebrates diverse cultures found in Southern Nevada, joins the celebrations of the annual Henderson Heritage Parade & Festival on Saturday, April 19. The festival will be held in the Henderson Events Plaza, located at 200 S. Water Street, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.

March 10, 2008 NORM JOHNSON TO BE FEATURED ARTIST FOR 11th ANNUAL ARTFEST OF HENDERSON Local icon Norm Johnson, best known for his award-winning journalism and the founder of the Mint 400 Off-Road Desert Race, has recently turned his focus on sculpting. To commemorate his new-found passion, the City of Henderson will recognize Johnson as one of the featured artists at the 11th annual ArtFestTM of Henderson, May 10-11 in the Water Street District in downtown Henderson. Johnson’s sculptures will be on display from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., both days. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

February 25, 2008 CITY OF HENDERSON HOSTS AUDITIONS FOR “THE PIED PIPER” The City of Henderson Cultural Arts & Tourism Department will host auditions for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “The Pied Piper”. Two auditions will be held for children, kindergarten through 12th grade at various locations in Henderson.
February 21, 2008 TERESA TESTA TO BE FEATURED AT 11th ANNUAL ARTFEST OF HENDERSON Local art teacher and porcelain sculptor Teresa Testa has been selected to be an honorary featured artist at this year’s ArtFestTM of Henderson, which celebrates its 11th anniversary on Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11 in the Water Street District in downtown Henderson.
